Acronym Corner: What is an RMA?

A Return Merchandise Authorization, or RMA, is a record of permission to accept returned items from your customers. When issued to your customer prior to the return, you can use an RMA to track the returned goods from authorization through all of your product return procedures: from receipt of the goods at your location, through an optional approval process, to the return of the goods to stock or a write-off of the cost.

Both OSAS and TRAVERSE business and accounting software suites feature complete RMA capabilities in their Sales Order applications.
